One of our youth received a once in a lifetime opportunity to travel overseas to the Appleby School of grammar in the United Kingdom as an exchange student. This expanded her horizons and allowed her to have a different perspective on the “outside” world. She is presently studying towards a B.A degree at the UKZN campus.
Other matriculants have pursued with their tertiary studies at local universities, and have successful careers and are prospering at their work places.
In 2014, one of our youth placed with us for many years, completed a one year City and Guilds Certificate in food preparation with the IKUSASA school of cooking. She also won the best student in practical work.
Youth who had previously resided at the Home as vulnerable children in need of care and left the home are now employed as staff in the various sectors . This is mutually beneficial as they contributed from their experiences and stay whilst placed at the Centre and we offered them an opportunity to be employed and develop their skills.
